National Risk Assessment

The Working Group has been divided into sector team namely the banking sector; the securities sector; insurance sector; the other Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs); the global business sector; and Designated Non–Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBP). The NRA project is being coordinated by the Financial Intelligence Unit, as the central agency.

Institutions relevant to the NRA Working Group, including the FSC Mauritius and sector representatives will form part of the designated team. A three-day workshop for all Working Group (WG) members was held from 18 to 20 January 2017 to launch the working group and to familiarise the participants with NRA and RBA concepts and relevant developments. In order to carry out the assessment, the National ML/TF Risk Assessment Tool was also introduced. ESAAMLG will conduct an assessment of the NRA project in June 2017.
