Financial inclusion and broadening access to financial services have gained importance over the years, and today ranks amongst the priorities on the agenda of international standard-setting bodies and regulators around the world. The FSC, in line with its statutory mandate, has spared no effort to ensure a better protection of consumers of financial services as well as promote public understanding of the financial system.
In 2011, the FSC launched the Financial Literacy and Young Talent Competition which targeted towards enhancing the knowledge and awareness of financial services to secondary and tertiary students.
The FSC believes that informed consumers make better financial decisions and given the complexity of the financial services sector, the Consumer Education Campaign 2012, which will be run at national level, will contribute towards the FSC’s objective of having a financially literate population capable of understanding how the sector functions and how financial products and services are used on a daily basis.
The roadshow will begin from 04 November to 01 December 2012.
