Leadership Team

In carrying out the FSC's mission, all staff are guided by the FSC Code of Conduct and the Core Values of the organisation, which are:

The Leadership Team, comprising the Chief Executive, the Deputy Chief Executive and the Directors enables the FSC to meet its statutory objectives, coordinates the activities of the various directorates and provides direction and guidance to the clusters.

 

The Leadership Team is assisted by the Head of Clusters and Team Leaders who work together to deliver the operational objectives of the FSC. They are responsible for the implementation of goals as set out in the strategic and business plans and ensure that the decisions and directions by the Leadership Team are understood by each and every member of the staff.

    Dr Roshan Boodhoo

    Dr. Roshan Boodhoo is the Chief Executive of the Financial Services Commission since 26 June 2024.

     

    In his capacity as Chief Executive, Dr. Boodhoo is responsible for the execution of the policy of the Board and for the control and management of the day-to-day business of the FSC. Dr. Boodhoo represents the FSC in a number of international regulatory bodies and committees including the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS) and the Committee of Insurance, Securities and Non-Banking Financial Authorities (CISNA). The FSC is the Africa/ Middle-East Regional Committee (AMERC) representative in the IOSCO Board for the term 2022- 2024. He is also a member of the National Sanctions Committee.

     

    Prior to joining the FSC, Dr. Boodhoo was the Deputy Group CEO of the SBM Group, the second largest banking group in Mauritius, from March 2021 to June 2024. During his tenure as Deputy Group CEO, Dr Boodhoo, had the responsibility of operations for both banking and non-banking financial clusters.

     

    Dr. Boodhoo was also the Group Chief Executive Officer of a financial services company. Under his leadership, the company which was operating in Mauritius and Luxembourg, embarked on an expansion plan abroad and established operations in International Financial Centres of repute.

     

    Dr. Boodhoo also served as Director for several entities in the financial and non-financial services sectors including Banks, Life Insurance Companies and IT & Telecommunications firms. From 2016 to 2021, he was a Director representing Africa on the EMEA Board of PrimeGlobal, one of the 5 largest financial associations in the world with a combined turnover in excess of USD 2.5 billion.

     

    During his career, Dr. Boodhoo has been a regular speaker and panellist in several international conferences. He has also published a number of research papers on finance and investment related topics.

     

    Dr. Boodhoo holds a Doctorate in Management (specialisation in Business Administration) from the Institute of Business Management, India as well as the following qualifications:

  • Mr Prakash Seewoosunkur

    Prakash Seewoosunkur is the Chief Operating Officer.

    He joined the Commission in 2001 and held Executive position.  In 2011, he was called to assume the role of Officer -in-charge of the Commission from January to July.  He was a former employee of the Mauritius Offshore Business Activities Authority (MOBAA).

    Previously, Prakash had worked for an Atlanta based US Company. From 2014-2015, he held  a senior management position in  a leading group of companies in Mauritius. 

    Prakash holds a bachelors and a masters degree in the field of software engineering as well as an MBA (Financial Management).  He has also specialised in the field of project management from Project Management Institute (PMI), USA.

    Mrs Audit is legally trained across jurisdictions like India, UK and Mauritius, with more than 25 years of experience in commercial, corporate and financial services regulatory environment. Over last two decades, she has gained extensive know-how of financial regulations and of business conduct in Mauritius for having worked both with regulatory agencies and private sector in Mauritius.

     

    In her career, Mrs Audit has actively been involved in leadership roles and participated in various senior level delegations, national committees and international forums. She has actively contributed in industry initiatives, governmental taskforce, regularly spoken at conferences, and lately been actively involved in issues relating to Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Gender Diversity, and RegTech.
